Last November, my aunt found an amazing photo that was taken in France during WWII: my grandfather saluting an American POW taken away by 6 nazi soldiers. The POW had bailed out from a B-26 back from a bombing mission near Paris. I managed to get in touch with the families of all seven airmen that were onboard except one: Sgt Jerome Ornstein. I thought you might be able to help me get in touch with him or his family.

This blog explores the origins of the Ornsteins. The site looks at those who are descended from Ephraim Ornstein of Jagielnica (Yahil'nytsia), a village in Galacia, in the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The area is now part of modern day Ukraine.
